VARHAD was honored by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of Maharashtra for its extraordinary work for the welfare of the women prisoners. Which included, adult literacy programme, vocational trainings and psycho-social support.

VARHAD was lauded by Mr. Shrikant Sawarkar, IPS (Inspector General of Prisons, Pune) for its effective initiatives of various vocational training to empower the women prisoners in the prison. Mr. Sawarkar was especially overwhelmed by the Usha School initiative of VARHAD.

VARHAD was applauded by Dr. Bhaidas N. Dhole (Superintendent of Prison, Amravati Central Prison) for arranging maximum number of caution money for the poor prisoners who could not afford to pay for their Parole and Furlough provisions.
