Voluntary Action for Rehabilitation & Development (VARHAD) is a non-profit
organization dedicated to social justice, empowerment, and development. Registered under the
Societies Registration Act of 1860 and the Bombay Public Trust Act of 1950, VARHAD operates
in the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra, working to create a positive and lasting impact on
marginalized communities.
Our journey began in the Criminal Justice System, where for over two
decades, we have ensured Access to Justice for prisoners and their families through a humane
and reformative approach. By strengthening family connections, we support reformation,
social reintegration, and rehabilitation, helping individuals rebuild their lives with
dignity.
Recognizing the growing social and economic challenges, VARHAD has expanded
its work beyond criminal justice to address key developmental issues. Our focus now includes
Education, Skill Development, Livelihood Support, Healthcare, and Psycho-Social well-being,
enabling individuals and communities to overcome hardships and build better futures.
At VARHAD, we believe that Justice, Dignity, and Opportunity should be
accessible to all. Through dedication, collaboration, and impactful initiatives, we strive
to create a more inclusive and equitable society where everyone has the chance to thrive.
VARHAD operates across multiple states in India, including Maharashtra, Delhi, Assam,
Punjab, and Sikkim, addressing critical social issues through targeted interventions.
Our core initiatives in the Criminal Justice System, Education, Youth Development, and
Women’s Empowerment are primarily focused in the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra, where we work closely
with communities to drive meaningful change.
Additionally, our health intervention programs extend beyond Maharashtra to Delhi,
Assam, Punjab, and Sikkim, ensuring access to essential healthcare services for underserved populations.
Through our widespread presence, VARHAD remains committed to creating a lasting impact on society.
