During the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, VARHAD took swift action to address the plight of vulnerable communities, particularly migrant laborers and the impoverished. Recognizing their dire need for sustenance, we launched a free Community Kitchen Service in Amravati city. This initiative provided lakhs of migrant laborers and helpless individuals with access to cooked meals and clean water during those difficult times.
Even after the return to normalcy, the community kitchen continues to serve as a lifeline for those in need. Every day, approximately 100 individuals, including destitute persons, older adults, sick individuals with no caregivers, and other impoverished members of society, receive free, nutritious meals. This ongoing effort reflects our commitment to ensuring that no one goes hungry, regardless of their circumstances.
VARHAD’s Community Kitchen has been widely recognized for its impact and generosity. The district administration even paid a courtesy visit to acknowledge and appreciate this initiative, highlighting its significance in supporting the most vulnerable.
Through this initiative, we strive to provide not just food, but also hope and dignity to those who need it the most. At VARHAD, we believe in standing by our communities, especially in times of crisis, and working tirelessly to create a more compassionate and inclusive society.
