At VARHAD, we believe in a holistic and integrated approach to intervention within the criminal justice system (CJS). Our mission is to ensure ‘Access to Justice’ for prisoners, their families, and particularly children whose lives are deeply affected by incarceration.
At VARHAD, we are committed to creating a more equitable Criminal Justice System by addressing the social, legal, and emotional needs of those impacted by incarceration. Together, we strive to restore dignity, hope, and access to justice for all.
At VARHAD, we are committed to upholding the fundamental right to a ‘Free and Fair Trial’ a cornerstone of India’s Criminal Justice System (CJS). As the world’s largest democracy, India guarantees this right to every individual, irrespective of caste, class, creed, age, or gender. Yet, systemic inefficiencies often lead to prolonged incarceration without due process, leaving innocent individuals trapped in the system.
At VARHAD, we believe in the transformative power of second chances. For released prisoners, reintegration into society is often hindered by stigma, rejection, and limited opportunities, leaving them marginalized and deprived of basic rights. Without adequate support, rebuilding their lives becomes an overwhelming challenge.
